About the Privacy Policy
Thisbe is committed to your privacy. This privacy policy describes certain processing of personal data where Thisbe processes personal data for its own account, including purposes for which personal data is processed, what personal data that is collected and the measures that Thisbe takes to protect personal data.
This is a general privacy policy. For specific activities and handling of personal data, the privacy policy may be supplemented with additional policies or privacy notices. In such cases, this general privacy policy shall be read together with the specific policy provided for the particular activity.
How Thisbe, as a data controller, uses personal data
Thisbe collects and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and other applicable legislation for the protection of privacy. Personal data means data that can be used to identify a natural person who is alive.
In contacts with Thisbe you may provide Thisbe with information about yourself or personal information that Thisbe asks you to give. This applies for example when Thisbe should inform you and answer questions about its activities. The information that is provided or collected may refer to your name, title, postal address, email address, phone number, and other information you choose to provide.
As the data controller, Thisbe processes personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide service and respond to inquiries regarding Thisbe’s operations, and to manage Thisbe’s relationship with you and the organization you represent.
- For internal administration purposes, internal statistics and to evaluate, develop and improve Thisbe’s activities.
- To provide information about Thisbe’s operations and activities to those who have shown interest.
- To allow Thisbe to fulfil legal obligations under applicable laws, regulations or government decisions.
- To establish and maintain contact with persons that may be engaged by companies or foundations within the Wallenberg sphere.
Thisbe processes personal data only if there is a legal basis for handling it. The processing of personal data is based on a legitimate interest in cases where Thisbe handles personal data to give information, provide service and respond to your requests about Thisbe’s operations, as well as for purposes related to administration and to evaluate, develop and improve Thisbe’s operations. This includes actions that Thisbe takes regarding troubleshooting, protection, testing and improvement of systems that Thisbe uses in its operations.
When personal data are processed to fulfil obligations under applicable laws, regulations and government decisions – for example under Sweden’s Accounting Act (1999:1078), the legal obligation is the legal basis for the processing of the data. If you have given consent to certain processing of your personal data, the consent is a legal basis for that processing. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Thisbe saves your personal data only for as long as it is required for the purpose of processing the data. Personal data is culled or anonymized when it is no longer relevant for the purposes for which it has been collected.
In addition to the above mentioned purposes of Thisbe’s personal data handling, the Foundation for Economic History Research within Banking and Enterprise – in accordance with its statutes to promote scientific research – archives certain documents from Thisbe’s activities for archiving and research purposes, such as accounting documents, meeting minutes, annual reports and printed matter. Documents transferred by Thisbe to the Foundation for Economic History Research within Banking and Enterprise for archival and research purposes are transferred for this purpose only. When personal data are processed at the Foundation for Economic History Research within Banking and Enterprise for archival and research purposes, the processing is carried out on the basis of performing a task of general interest and that purpose is consistent with the original purposes of collecting the personal data. The Foundation for Economic History Research within Banking and Enterprise takes appropriate protective measures to ensure that the principle of data minimization is especially respected.
Disclosure of personal data
Within the framework of Thisbe's activities, and in order to achieve the above-mentioned purposes of data processing, Thisbe may, in accordance with applicable legislation, share personal data with others with whom Thisbe cooperates, such as the Wallenberg Foundations.
In some cases, personal data collected by Thisbe may be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In this case, such transfer shall be carried out in accordance with the legislation in force and shall require that the country concerned has an adequate level of data protection, or that there are other adequate safeguard measures that make the transfer lawful.
Personal data may also be disclosed to authorities in accordance with applicable legislation.
Security
Thisbe takes necessary and reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. This means that Thisbe, in its personal data processing activities, applies various physical and technical limitations and restrictions on access to personal data, including through technical authorization and access control systems, the use of firewalls, virus protection, backup systems and other network security, and the possibility of security measures such as encryption and de-identification of personal data where appropriate. If Thisbe hires a third-party partner to support Thisbe’s activities, Thisbe ensures that it applies corresponding technical and organizational security measures and that processes personal data only in the manner approved by Thisbe.
Requests for register extract, rectification, etc.
You have the right to receive confirmation free of charge of whether personal data about you are being processed by Thisbe and, in such case, request information about the personal data collected by Thisbe, from where this personal data has been obtained, the purposes for which the data have been processed, the recipients or categories of recipients the personal data have or may be disclosed to and, if possible, the anticipated period during which the personal data will be stored (“Register Extract”). For such requests, Thisbe will also provide the information that Thisbe is obliged to disclose in accordance with applicable law. A request for a Register Extract must be made in writing and signed by you.
Anyone who discovers that registered personal data are not up-to-date, inaccurate, incomplete or have been processed in violation of the above-mentioned purposes or relevant legislation may request Thisbe to correct, block or delete such registered personal data.
You also have the right, under certain conditions, to request limitation of your data processing or request a copy of the personal data relating to you in a structured format (data portability).
Anyone who has given consent to certain processing of personal data may at any time choose to withdraw his or her consent by contacting Thisbe. In the event that consent is withdrawn, Thisbe will cease processing of the data for which consent was given.

Cookies
Thisbe makes use of cookies for the information Thisbe provides through its websites for statistical evaluation and analysis, among other purposes. A cookie is a text file stored on your computer, for example, which enables identification of your computer.
